The Shalom Free Clinic is located in the Education Building next to the Congregational Church of Chico at
1190 E. First Avenue, Chico, CA 95926.
A buffet luncheon will be served each Sunday
afternoon during clinic hours.

The Shalom Free Clinic is NOT able to treat: fractures, unstable
vital signs, acute low back pain, irritable bowel disease, Crohn's
disease, diverticulitis, cholecystitis, lacerations, cellulitis
that requires an IV/antibiotics, OB/GYN problems, Worker's Compensation
injuries, insurance physicals, or sports physicals.
Call 911 if you have a stroke or TIA, chest pain, or severe shortness
of breath.
The Shalom Free Clinic will see patients for: sore throat, ear ache, colds and flu, chronic headaches,
minor trauma (if a fracture is suspected you will be referred to the Emergency
Room), gastroenteritis, chronic low back pain (but not severe
pain that could be due to a severe underlying problem), urinary
tract infections, asthma and bronchitis, and cellulitis if it can
be treated as an outpatient.
Referrals will be provided, as needed.
The Shalom Free Clinic also provides the following services: smoking cessation, medication management, blood pressure
control, health screenings, health education,
primary care interventions, drug and alcohol interventions,
mental/behavioral health counseling, prescriptions and medications.
New services available at the Shalom Free Clinic
- Acupuncture by appointment only on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Please call 530-518-8422 to make an appointment.
- Nutrition counseling available every Sunday.
- Group session: Women in Transition, the 2nd and 4th Sunday at 1 PM We are offering this women's group to discuss all the changes women face in their lives.
- Group session: Working on Life's Problems every Sunday at 2 PM
- Group session: Family Communication 1st Sunday of the month at 1:30 led by Jeannie Thatcher
- Group session: Clutter Support Group 6:30-8:30 PM Tuesdays (Beginning in November 2009)
MISSION STATEMENT
The Shalom Free Clinic will:
Provide under insured and uninsured children and adults with
health screening, primary care interventions, health service,
and education including physical and mental/behavioral health
services free of charge.
Welcome and accept people of all sexual orientations, races,
genders, nationalities, economic standings, marital status,
family configurations, ages, and different mental and physical
abilities.
